Today is the blog’s very first Happy Birthday. It also coincides with its one year anniversary. And I mention that the blog turns one ?
Such a coincidence of unrelated facts is very rare as you can see. In fact, the last time a celestial combination led to such an event, we were ruled by a dynasty, which doesn’t say much apart from those 6 words.
I would like to believe that the first post (the default WordPress Hello World post) was lame, while the second post (on the World’s Shortest Books) and subsequent posts are decreasing in lameness .. but my beliefs have often been incorrect.
I also think that this blog has touched many people .. in places that are deemed inappropriate.
I can see that the intellectual quotient of the readers of this blog has consistently increased .. and they have stopped visiting the blog now.
I am sure it has also made people think and debate on some important issues .. like why they still visit.
It has brought unbound joy and happiness into the lives of millions of people .. who strangely haven’t ever visited the blog.
It has made me famous and a known figure among many people .. all of whom avoid me now.
This is also the only blog where the percentage of female commenters is exactly 80.34874. But I would not like to judge the fairer sex and those who do not use Fair and Lovely based on this fact.
The blog receives hundreds of hits daily .. which shows how many people hate it.
It is indeed an achievement that none of the comments are negative or insulting .. as they have been deleted.
In all, the blog has received around 10,000 comments so far .. 9,000 of which were caught by some spam filter and a half of the rest are by me.
To conclude, as you can see, all this has been no mean achievement and I would like to share this moment with everyone, and it gives me great pleasure as I don’t have to actually share anything. But before signing off, I am wondering why the ball-point pen isn’t working on the screen. Nevertheless, I dedicate this song called Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye to the blog, with the male cheerleaders and all.
Enjoy.
Keep visiting.

Felicitations!
I’m looking forward to the terrible twos!
Happy Birthday!

@Gigi : Thank you.
@alltalkandnoaction : That purely depends on how much efforts the spammers take. But it is heartening that they make it a point to comment on every post of mine, unlike regular readers. So what if the comments are ’slightly’ off topic. It is the gesture that matters (as in Bhaavnaon ko samjho)
