Here is the link to the snaps I took on yesterday’s trip. Mostly landscape stuff, don’t expect too many people in the snaps, and you won’t be disappointed.
By far, this seems to be the best album I have shot, or so I think. You know your photos are good when the snaps look far better than the place (no offence meant to the island, but it was kind of a lame place save for a couple of spectacular views).
The exact location of the islands is this for people interested in making this trip.
Once again, the snaps are here : http://picasaweb.google.com/iyerdeepakphotos/ChannelIslands11thJul2009?authkey=Gv1sRgCJnCj9ig_KHjoQE#
For a weekend where I wanted to take it easy and hoped that all we’d do is camp, cook, eat and sleep, it ended up being tiring with more than 14 miles of hiking. In fact, I was so frustrated that I almost ran back in the last stretch.
Sadly, the near future looks very bleak as far as rest is concerned.
P.S. : Colorado snaps should be up soon too, as should regular blogging.

Awesome snaps …. looks like sum1 is having gr8 fun

@Mukta : Somehow I don’t like the idea.
Anyway, I am sure all the contestants are far more accomplished than someone like me. Another minor technicality – it is couples only [:)].

@Mukta : Firstly, how do you know these details ??
Secondly, I think it is too much of an effort appeasing people to vote and stuff. I’d rather go alone [:)]

@Mukta : Btw, all this is heavily hypothetical. I am not even in India then.

@Aniruddha : I already mentioned this, the snaps look far better, which is why I had to be honest and admit that the place was lame [:)]

Did u try the sea kayaking and snorkeling dude? The sea kayaking trip was out of the world dude…exploring the sea caves was quite something. Snorkeling was surprisingly nice too….quite a lot of fantastic marine life around the kelp forests!
The hikes are nothing special..I agree.

@Deepak : Sadly, the planning was put together on Thursday, so didn’t know that we had to carry our own kayaks.
I do plan to go there again for the kayaking and snorkeling. Great location for that, agreed. This time, all I wanted to do was camp and cook food [:)], to get some rest from hiking.

Actually u dont have to carry ur own kayaks. Get in touch with paddlesports. They did a super awesome job including leading us through kickass caves…. It’s $175 but totally worth it!

@Deepak : Yeah so you either need to book it in advance or carry your own kayaks, both of which we didn’t know we had to do. We assumed rental kayaks would await us
So we did talk to the kayak guides there, who offered to take us on a 3 hour tour for $100, but that was later in the day on Sunday, by when we had to leave. But such it goes. Maybe another trip.
