These are just some notes I wrote on the way during the coast to coast roadtrip. Read on. Other parts can be found on chronological order. Kindly forgive the writing, these were penned down on the way. Even by my low standards, I can vouch that the writing is bad.
I woke up at noon, and saw if I could fit the hike of an easy 14er on the way. Sadly, it is not an ideal world and we did not have enough time.
This also reminds me, a friend once joked I should plot all my travels on a map and that I should have 2 maps, one for horizontal, the other for vertical.
V’s friend in Denver joined us, R made his usual delicious food, we reminisced about our hikes, and it was time to leave. This was more than halfway into the drive, so we got the oil changed and a car wash. By the time we left Denver it was 6 pm.
The drive to our next campground was easy and we split it evenly. We camped at Paxico, Kansas. We also discovered that campgrounds are called kampgrounds for some strange reason. That is the reason our search results were incorrect the previous days.

Awesome… was fun reading about your take on a coast-to-coast road trip. This has to be a significant milestone.. Looking forward to the photos!
You made a couple of interesting choices that I am inspired to use in my next roadtrip, whenever that will be – the first would be this Craiglist business offering your driving service to folks who need their cars transported. I had looked up a few websites that promised to match up drivers with people who needed their car moved, but I wasn’t totally sure I’d find a good car or a flexible timeline. Looks like it worked for you.
And the other would be using the campgrounds for night stops. Must be more fun than Comfort Inns, I imagine? Or any problems you encountered there? FYI, they’re most probably called ‘kampgrounds’ because they are operated by KOA.

@Arti : Oh yes, if you know how to pitch a tent and cook your food, campgrounds are just perfect. Far better than hotels, if you want a better experience. Plus most campgrounds are equipped with everything u can ever imagine, so you don’t lose out on luxuries either, apart from sleeping inside a tent
