In many parts of the world, the fight is over allowing same-sex marriages. In other parts, some are fighting over disallowing same-gotra marriages.

Probably same-sex marriage will be allowed only if both to-be-married are from different gotra!

If you don’t know, same gotra marriage is already VOIDABLE in HMA. What is the moral objection to go one step more and declare it VOID? I hope you know what is voidable.
Courts have nowhere recognised the so called same sex marriage. It has only been decriminalised. That is all. Hope you this too.
As for SC, it can be hasty in judging. During Emergency, hope you know about it, SC had ruled that the govt. can torture, starve or kill a oerson during emergency and NO COURT, SC included, can give a relief. The judges rued it at liesure.
In Bhopal gas case, SC diluted the charges against Anderson. CJI Ahmedi was part of the bench. It threw out the revision petition with one word: DISMISSED. Now the same Ahmedi is playing innocent saying there should HAVE been a review prtition!!
I assure you it is not the end of the matter. People in N. India do not sanction same gotra marriage and take care to avoid it.
