On the topic of Babas fasting for causes, here’s one who died while fasting to save the Ganga.
I know it’d make him happy if we gave him and his cause the fifteen seconds of fame.

This news in invariably going to cause someone to compare Ramdev and the above Baba. But each time I read someone opine that we ought to talk about Irom Sharmila and not about Anna Hazare, I’m reminded that I need to read smarter folks and not them.

What do you mean by the last bit “I’m reminded that I need to read smarter folks and not them” ? I didn’t get that.
It might sound a bit insensitive, but I only got to know about Irom Sharmila’s fast due to this whole episode of fasting for corruption. If anything I learned from this whole so called satyagraha, that there are more unnoticed and unsung people out there fasting for various causes. But then I am just a student sitting and reading.

Inserting an Irom Sharmila reference is a fine way to highlight her issue, but dismissing one saying the other is more important is a slippery slope and something I dislike.
P.S. I mean I need to read smarter bloggers and columnists
