Another terror attack. City : Mumbai. So you know it is to “cripple the economic capital of India”. City : Bangalore. So you think it is “to cripple the IT sector.” City : Ahmedabad. So before you read further, your brain tells you it is “due to Godhra”. So in a way, don’t we all already know the targets ?
As a fitting reply to the terrorists, our Home Minister rambles on about some acts in the constitution and some federal agency which I am guessing is going to be this magical team which detects terrorists in the womb. But the most disturbing fact according to me is that the people planning and executing this are Indians, so we cannot even blame our loving neighbors for sending over guests to pursue their career here.
But is terrorism the biggest threat, as claimed by the Government and all of us at this moment ? Can it ever be, is my question ?
I have with me about four paragraphs written after this, but I thought it would be best to end it at that question.

No surprises, the great son of a …. er, soil .. Mr. Raj Thakre (yeah, I won’t call him Thackeray) at it again : Link
I think I have finally found utmost respect and admiration for Mr. Raj Thakre, as the only politician with a vision to efficiently solve the many problems our country is facing. Why ? Because only the genius of Mr. Raj Thakre can come up with a slogan “Don’t let outsiders in” that tackles immigration influx as well as the growing population !
Killing 2 stones with 1 bird, eh ? (Note to self : Keep it clean.)
P.S. : I always had this question, why the hell doesn’t he call himself Thakre, Mr. All-instances-of-Bombay-should-be-replaced-by-Mumbai (including Bombay Duck I presume) !
P.P.S. : The fact that he calls himself and others sons-of-the-soil makes me very curious about his scores in biology in school. Coupled with the fact that Maharashtra seems to be at the forefront in opposing sex-education in schools. Hmmm .. makes sense actually.
P.P.S. (seriously) : I have been planning to post a longer, more-politically-correct post on this issue, which I hope I’ll be doing soon.

V V Bhadram confidently announced that the monsoons would hit the city only after June 10.
………………………………………………..
Noida police, you have some serious competition !
………………………………………………..
But on Friday night, the heavens opened up and the city got 161 mm of rainfall within just 12-hours. BMC commissioner Jairaj Phatak said he got an SMS from IMD officials on Saturday morning announcing that monsoon had arrived in the city.
………………………………………………..
I can already see Noida police taking some inspiration and sending out SMS’es to people after they have been kidnapped or murdered.
But the most disturbing piece of news is undoubtedly :
………………………………………………..
Aashirwad Gajanan Koli (32) from Versova who owns four shipping boats said, “We cannot rely on the weather bureau reports as our lives are at stake. We stopped going into the sea from June 1 as there were tell-tale signs of monsoon hitting the coastline soon. The sea had been rough and the moisture in the air was evident that it would rain soon.”
……………………………………………….
Forget the weather, the IMD remains a bigger enigma in India.
