I was chatting with a friend when the song, Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya from Hum Dono, came up. I had shared its YouTube video and the friend was presumably watching it. This is the rest of the chat :
Friend : Why is Dev Anand wearing his pants in this song?
Me: Umm … because else it would be weird ! What would you rather have him do ? Strip naked ?
Friend : No .. not wear his pants in public !!!
Me (15 secs later after going through the video) : Hahaha .. awesome !!! This might be Hindi cinema’s first gay scene !
So presenting to you, what I think is Hindi cinema’s first implied gay scene; several decades before Kantaben appeared. Watch from 0:40 to 1:00. You need a fairly twisted mind to view such things, and I trust you have it in you.
